Volunteering

Volunteering at People In Action

At People In Action we strongly value our volunteers. Voluntary support helps our organisation to succeed in a variety of areas. Our volunteers allow us to deliver a wider, more efficient range of services to our customers, many of which would otherwise be unavailable.

Volunteering Opportunities

The Youth Services and Adult Services provide the opportunity for volunteers to meet, befriend and support people with learning difficulties and disabilities on a regular basis. Projects may be short term or ongoing, and with the support of our volunteers, they enable our customers with learning difficulties and disabilities to achieve personal interests and aspirations to their individual abilities. Projects may involve outdoor based activities, life skills programmes and leisure based social groups which work to promote independent living, relationship building, healthy living and mental wellbeing.

Volunteers can support people on a one-to-one basis or get involved in group work. We also require voluntary support in the head office, and encourage volunteers to engage in opportunities such as policy making by joining the Members Engagement Committee.
