Dramarama

The Dramarama ProjectDramarama is a programme of accessible workshops for anyone with learning disabilities ages 14 and above. The sessions cover drama games, improvisation, text-work,voice and movement.

The aims:

To develop acting skills whilst building confidence and team working skills,making friends and having fun.

Activities:

The workshops cover nonsense poetry, site specific theater, ghost stories, myths and legends, basic Shakespeare and modern versions of fairy tales.

Participants ages 14-25 can have their involvement accredited with the Arts Award.

When does it take place:

The Monday afternoon project meets from 1-3pm each programme is for 12 weeks. Programmes cover: doing acting work and exercises about the Ancient Greeks and the Olympics, and about different place in the world and annual festivals in Leeds.

The Wednesday evening project meets from 6-8pm this will work towards an end of project performance.

Contributions for attending:

These project do no have funding therefore fee of £5.50 a session is necessary to charge. Tea, coffee, biscuits and juice are provided. Each group member has their birthday planned and celebrated in the group. Places can be booked in advance on the projects for as many sessions as preferred. One Carer/support worker have FREE entry.
